I try to read the manual for the DMV to obtain a motorcycle license and first paragraph reads as follows:
Under New Jersey law, a motorcycle is a motorcycle,
a bicycle with a motor vehicle or a motor drive connected
Bicycle or tricycle type, except a motorized bicycle.

A moped have less than 50 cc go faster and sing the 25 miles per hour and can not exceed 1.5 horsepower. Motorized bicycles are considered mopeds.
